(Denver, 1944). Profesora emérita distinguida del programa de Historia de la Conciencia en la Universidad de California. Doctora en biología y profesora de teoría del feminismo y tecnociencia. Es conocida por sus relevantes aportaciones en campos tan diversos como los estudios culturales, la teoría política, la primatología, la literatura y la filosofía. Entre sus publicaciones destacan Manifiesto para Cyborg (2006 [1985]), Primate Visions: Gender, Race, and Nature in the World of Modern Science (1989) del cual se puede encontrar en castellano su primer capítulo en El patriarcado del osito Teddy.
