(París, 1952). Doctora en Teoría Política por Berkeley, es una feminista decolonial antirra- cista, escritora y comisaria independiente. Ha ocupado puestos en la Universidad de Sussex, el Goldsmiths College y ha sido profesora visitante en universidades estadounidenses. Creó la Cátedra Global South(s) en el Collège d’études mondiales (París, 2014-2018) y fue presidenta de Le Comité pour la mémoire et l’histoire de l’esclavage (Francia, 2009-2012). Entre 2003 y 2010, Vergès fue directora del programa de desarrollo científi- co y cultural de la Maison des Civilisations et de l’Unité Réunionnaise (MCUR), en Isla de la Reunión.

With the Covid-19 pandemic, the capitalist machine was forced to slow down and the seemingly unstoppable flow that supply chains had built was curbed, but the profits of e-commerce skyrocketed and billionaires became richer. The suspended time, for those who could afford it, allowed for dreaming of another future; one of less consumption and greater care for the planet and people.
