Kimia Kamvari (Colonia, 1986) es licenciada en Pintura por la Universidad Azad de Arte y Arquitectura de Teherán y máster en Investigación y Creación en Arte por la UPV-EHU. Desde 2015 vive y trabaja en Astigarreta, un pequeño pueblo del interior de Gipuzkoa. Su obra transita desde la pintura figurativa hacia una mirada cada vez más conceptual que explora nuevos formatos y materiales. Prueba de ello son sus últimas exposiciones: Apeiron (Dastan Gallery, 2018), Nature Change (Fundación Cristina Enea, 2019), Event Horizon (Dastan Gallery, 2019), Alef (San Telmo Museoa, 2022) y Larruak eta Izurrak (Tabakalera, 2024).

Negative Landscape

This book presents the exploration that Kimia Kamvari carried out around sinkholes in Iranian territory between 2019 and 2021. It brings together the core of her work: a series of meticulous and methodical photographs, accompanied by cartographic plates and texts that help us understand the artist’s perspective on the phenomenon while also encouraging that of the reader.
