The artist’s book Esperpento (November, 2014) was created by combining images of Spanish geography obtained from Google Earth and small fragments of dialogue from “Luces de Bohemia” by Ramón María del Valle Inclán.
Valle Inclán’s work, published in 1920, is among other things a mirror of the Spain of the time. The work leaves no one with a single head, all social strata are victims and collaborators of a degraded society. Iñigo Royo’s work reminds us how the reality described by Valle remains, corrected and augmented, in today’s society.
